Humanity is in need of a vision …

…that unites all the peoples of the world. Such a vision unfolds within the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, the Prophet Founder of the Bahá’í Faith. The diversity of the human family Bahá’u’lláh tells us, should be the cause of love and harmony, as it is in music where many different notes blend together in the making of a perfect chord. His teachings form the basis of the Bahá’í Faith, and inspires individuals and communities to strive to translate His teachings into action for the betterment of society.
A united, just and peaceful society that celebrates and embraces the diversity of the human family, supported by a spiritual and moral framework, is now well within our grasp.

God the Unknowable Essence

“O SON OF MAN! I loved thy creation, hence I created thee. Wherefore, do thou love Me, that I may name thy name and fill thy soul with the spirit of life.”
– Bahá’u’lláh

God is the Creator of all things.

Possessing all perfections, God’s essence is far beyond the understanding of any mortal mind. Like a table cannot understand the nature of the carpenter who made it, man in the same way, being created by God cannot understand the true nature of his Creator. However, we find expressions of God’s attributes in every created thing. In creating human beings, He has conferred upon man the “unique distinction and capacity to know Him and to love Him” and endowed him with inherent potentialities “to carry forward an ever-advancing civilization”. To guide humanity to achieve this, God through His eternal and infinite love for us sent a succession of Divine Educators, known as Manifestations of God.

Oneness of Religion

“This is the changeless Faith of God, eternal in the past, eternal in the future.”
– Bahá’u’lláh

The Manifestations of God

Among them Abraham, Krishna, Zoroaster, Moses, Buddha, Jesus Christ, Muhammad, and, in more recent times, the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh are like well-polished mirrors. While they may look different, they all reflect the light of the same sun. Their teachings help us to know God, fills us with knowledge and capacity for the time that they appear and propel us to unfold the story of humanity’s material and spiritual progress through its stages of development.

The teachings of Bahá’u’lláh, the latest of these Educators states that this is the age of the dawn of humanity’s maturity and a just and peaceful world is now possible. His Writings outline a framework for the development of a global civilization

Oneness of Humankind

“Be ye as the fingers of one hand, the members of one body. Thus counseleth you the Pen of Revelation…”
– Bahá’u’lláh

The conviction that we belong to one human family is at the heart of the Bahá’í Faith.

Having passed through the ages of infancy and childhood, humanity now stands at the threshold of collective maturity. The ruinous prejudices and traditions of the past are slowly being eroded in light of new fundamental truths about the nature and purpose of human beings. The recognition of these truths requires a transformation of human consciousness to guide the construction of new social structures and essential relationships that bind the individual, community, and institutions, ensuring the spiritual and material well-being of everyone. The unification of the human race is the hallmark of humanity’s approach to its age of maturity.
